Every year, Pinterest releases Pinterest Predicts; a brilliantly handy report analysing user saves and searches, and highlighting key trends to watch for the year ahead! It hits across categories, from beauty to travel, fashion to home, even to social or financial trends.

So what do you do if a trend has captured your interest, but for example, it's a beauty trend and you don't wear makeup? Or if a travel trend seems right up your street, but there's no budget for a holiday this year? Well, with a little creative thinking, there's no reason these trends can't all be adapted into other walks of life! In this article, we go through 7 of the 2026 Pinterest Predicts trends, and how you can adapt them into your home decor and interior.

Afrohemian Decor

A trend in interior decor, Afrohemian blends African styles with bohemian decor. Here are some tips on incorporating this vibrant fusion into your home.

laced up

Doilies at the ready; lace is so vogue right now! People are using lace as stencils for both makeup and for beautiful sourdough patterns, applying it to their nails, and wearing all manner of lacy clothing and accessories.

For your home, lace has a long history, but how would you give it a twist for 2026? Well, one thing you can do is consider using floor to ceiling lace curtains to give elegance and style, rather than grandma! How about a lace lampshade? A table runner instead of a full tablecloth gives a simple delicate touch, and cushion covers are both easy to buy or make.

The best part is that this trend lends itself so well to upcycling and DIYing; grab yourself some lace trim and decorate to your hearts' content!

cool blue

Icy tones are predicted to be a cross-trend hit this year! With make-up, fashion, drinks and more all taking hints, when it comes to cool blue home decor, look not just for the hue itself but also for accessories that give off that icy feel. Frosted or rippled glass, organic shapes, and non-uniform patterns like marble lend themselves so well. As for palettes, keep it monochromatic, pair with a warm deep brown for a sophisticated edge, or get bold with reds, oranges, and plums.

CABBAGE CRUSH

Cabbage is taking the number one vegetable spot this year! The humble leafy green is a real heavyweight in many global cuisines, and this year you're likely to see it begin to take centre stage on restaurant menus and in food vlogger content.

Just searching online brings up a real variety of cabbage recipes to try this year; a charred cabbage wedge smothered in flavoured butters give that restaurant experience at home, while Eastern Europe and beyond gives us cabbage rolls as a comforting and filling meal. Kimchi (and Korean cooking) continues to rise in popularity - it goes excellently in a cheese toastie, or for a more authentic dish, try whipping up a kimchijeon or warming yourself with a kimchi jjigae (jjigae = stew)!

In terms of your home, cabbage motifs are the most obvious point of call to take inspiration from; cabbage crockery is a charming and whimsical addition to your dining table! You can also look for key colours; greens are an obvious choice in a variety of shades, as well as purples and pinks inspired by red cabbages. Alternatively, if you're looking for a more subtle nod to the trend, you could try incorporating some leafy patterns into your soft furnishings, such as cushions or throws. You can even turn a cabbage into a biodegradable vase for that surprise bouquet; no kidding!

extra celestial

Aliens may be among us! One of this year's youth-led trends is all things spacey and futuristic. Opalescent and alien are two key terms for make-up and beauty trends, and metallic silver dominates clothing options; but how do you style a home in extra celestial alien style?

brooched

That's right! Brooches are back in a big way in fashion, tying in with a real swing back to maximalism and vintage decor these past few years. This fashion trend sees mens jackets adorned with a chaotic mix of ornate badges, but brooches can also easily become home decor if you'd like to keep them safe; why not try building a display of them as a functional and unique art piece?

You can find brooches second hand in vintage or charity shops, making it a trend that can stay very eco-conscious. For a more abstract brooch-themed home interior, colours will guide you - think metallic golds, rich jewel tones, and elaborate and intricate decor (beaded pieces are great!).

glamoratti

Will we ever get over the 80s? Not when they were this good! Glamoratti brings back early 80's luxury right into the modern era, with the fashion forward donning big suits, high necks, chunky gold jewellery, and tortoiseshell accessories. Browns, golds, faux fur and leather all shout decadence this year.
