What is a garden? Well, it's a bit trickier to define than you'd think; from window boxes to large sweeping lawns, they can explode with greenery, be focused around ponds and water features, or in the case of some zen gardens, have no plants at all! The key element that unifies them all is that they are human-cultivated. But this doesn't mean they are devoid of life or outside of the natural order!
The variations of size, plants, and styles all impact the life that can be found in gardens, but there are plenty of critters to be found, especially with trends moving towards providing the ideal environment for our native wildlife. There is much home inspiration to take from our local landscapes, but here are our favourite items focusing specifically on garden flora and fauna.

DID YOU KNOW?Gardens in the UK amount to a greater space than all our National Nature Reserves combined! In this series, we focus on taking inspiration from garden plants and animals, but that isn't the only thing you can do to make your home a marvellous meadow! Here are our top tips:
Bring the outdoors in
Indoor plants are one of the primary ways to create a garden aesthetic home, but you don't need to stop there! Why not look at repurposing plant stands as decorative shelves, trellises as room dividers or accent walls, or upcycling old tools as art? Giving things a second life is both garden-inspired and eco-friendly.
pop in some biological motifs
Whether as a loud statement or an unassuming silhouette, look to insects like butterflies, ladybugs, and bees for an easy garden touch. Grasses, flowers, trees and shrubs are a perfect plant choice, and animals like birds, frogs, hedgehogs and mice are very symbolic of garden life.
embrace a natural palette
When curating a garden-inspired palette, it's easy to look to the outdoors, and green goes without saying! It is inherently a very spring-forward trend, so think lights and pastels mixed with earthy tones. Pastel pink, soft white, duck egg blue and butter yellow complement many different greens.
let the textures speak for themselves
Jute rope, natural wood, wrought iron, and terracotta are all materials that evoke a sense of the countryside garden - you can use these to great effect as part of functional pieces like terracotta pots or iron hooks, or as decorative objects like wooden plaques and jute-decorated trinkets!
As you can see, there's a lot to choose from when it comes to garden inspired home decor! Garden style works wonderfully all over the home, creating country kitchens, soothing living spaces and bedrooms, and could even be a springboard for a unique and calming bathroom scheme. Whether it's your own home you want to transform into a natural paradise, or if you're looking for a gift for a greenery enthusiast, garden decor mixes with so many other styles and brings a unique and charming vibe.
