Emma-culate Pottery
Most of us, when we think of British pottery, will immediately think of Emma Bridgewater. Established in 1985, their designs were an instant classic. But how did they get here?
After a young Emma couldn't find the right sort of china as a gift for her mother Charlotte, she decided she would make her own that captured her mother's style far more than what was offered on the high street.
Based in Stoke-on-Trent, the company revived a traditional technique of sponge painting decorations, seen in designs like the ubiquitous polka dot line! Working with her now ex-husband, Matthew Rice, who brought his own incredible designs like the Black Toast range, the company has only gone from strength to strength.
From its original classic earthenware, to textiles, glass, melamine, and tin, Emma Bridgewater's work continues to delight people worldwide, and it's those tin and textile products that we are especially excited to bring to you!
